My compliments to the chef for a riveting evening - The Times
Alison Steadman, the award winning British actress famed for her many Mike Leigh co-ops, stars along with Daisy Donovan, of 11 O''Clock Show fame, and Michael Attwell in the first major revivial of Debbie Isitt''s critically acclaimed black comedy.
Kenneth and Hilary have been married for 20 years. This is the time when a midlife crisis sets in and Kenneth embarks on a relationship with a younger woman, Laura. He believes he''s found eternal bliss, but he soon finds out there is one very important element missing...Laura can''t cook. As time goes by Kenneth starts missing the comforts and stability of married life, and especially the Sunday Roast! Hilary decides to invite Laura and Kenneth over to dinner, they readily accept oblivious to the delicacies Hilary has in mind to serve them.
Isitt herself directs, with a little help from Mark Kilmurry of the renowned Snarling Beasties Theatre Company.
