I went on a friend's recommendation, was an excellent performance, would highly recommend!
I really enjoyed this production. The performances were excellent and musically it was first class. Not all the jokes hit the target but on the whole it was an amusing afternoon. I will certainly look out for this company again. It was disappointing that the theatre was only one-third full, the performers deserved better
It was a brave attempt to condense 16 hours of Wagner's Ring Cycle into a 2+ hour performance - and with just 5 singers with a piano accompaniment. The narration linking each musical section was helpful - particularly for my guest who had never been to a Wagner opera. Good use was made of the sparse set and the Bish, Bash, Bosh washing machines were inspired. However I could have done without the sing-a-long pantomime finale!
Very enjoyable introduction to Wagner. Would have preferred more singing.
Great introduction to the real thing and kept us all absorbed. Wold never sit through the original so seeing this was excellent. Good comedy and music! Would search out other company productions.
Original show on The Ring, good singing and moving despite the take off which was amusing. Interesting theatre at Charing Cross.
An amazing blend of moving music and light comedy - made possible by brilliant actors/singers, who make the transition between the two to great effect. I was both moved and amused.
The show was very good. The standard of singing and acting was excellent. The script was funny and serious when appropriate. Thank you. All my guests enjoyed it too.
I enjoyed it as it was what I expected. I took two opera virgins and they found it a great introduction into the bonkers world of Wagner. The key piece of feedback I would give you is that you should make clear the things you issued that I printed off and were called e-tickets were not at all. The theatre insisted we had to exchange them at the box office for 'real' tickets. This is annoying. Perhaps you can set clearer expectations in the future.
Performers happy when singing, embarrassed by script and feeble jokes
I thought it was awful; a travesty of The Ring Cycle, a terrible script, not funny at all and dreadful acting and direction - although the women, particularly Brunilde, had good voices. We left in the interval. Sorry but you did ask!!
